Jessica is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, after completing her Masters degree at Australian Catholic University in 2016. Jessica also graduated with First Class Honours and with Distinction from her Bachelor degree. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and has worked in private practice since commencing her career.
Jessica describes herself to be a warm, friendly, and approachable psychologist, who hopes to make the experience of seeking support as welcoming and as comfortable as possible. Although seeing a psychologist for the first time can be an anxiety-provoking experience, she often helps new clients feel at ease with her desire to truly hear her client experiences and to understand what has brought them to therapy.
Jessica is passionate about her work, and enjoys working with those of differing cultural backgrounds and with diverse presenting issues; from early adulthood and beyond (age 18 +). She draws on evidence-based approaches, but tailors therapy to meet the individual needs of the person. With a client-centered approach, she strives to ensure that all clients feel listened to, but also encourages the use of strategies that will assist in improving mental health and wellbeing. She is a person who becomes highly invested in the outcomes for her clients, as she always has their best interests in mind.
Jessica works with a range of mental health difficulties, from anxiety disorders, depression, and eating disorders. Since becoming a mother of two children, she has developed a special interest in supporting parents in the joys and struggles that comes with pregnancy and parenthood. She is eligible to provide Medicare rebatable sessions through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), Eating Disorder Plan (EDP), and Pregnancy Support Counselling referral.
